For patients with spinal cord injuries, surgery can be an option to help restore elbow, wrist, and hand function lost due to the injury. Dr. Allan Peljovich and Dr. Bryce Gillespie provide these reconstructive surgeries through their work at Shepherd Center.

Tendon transfer and nerve transfer surgeries can be used to improve function and regain independence for these patients. Dr. Peljovich discusses these life-changing surgeries in the Fall 2015 edition of Spinal Column, a Shepherd Center publication.
